  WHAT HAPPENED?

  Reports have suggested that the former Manchester United forward, who is now starring in France for Marseille, is one signature away from committing to the Reggae Boyz. His solitary senior cap for the Three Lions was earned in a Nations League match with Iceland in September 2020.

  WHAT JAMAICA CHIEF SAID

  Dennis Chung, general secretary of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), has said in the of Greenwood being close to severing ties with the England national team: “I do not know where that came from. Nothing has changed for us. It is the same situation.”

  He added: “We are basically waiting on a document. That is all we are waiting on but we have been waiting on that for a little while and there is still no timeline on when that documentation will be completed.”

  Greenwood can switch allegiance to Jamaica as his one appearance for England came while under the age of 21.
