Arsenal fans will be eagerly awaiting news on his future, and the ex-midfielder says talks will begin once the transfer window ends.

"The focus has been on the transfer window," he said when asked about the state of contract talks with the club. "We had quite a lot of things to do and discuss. We are on it and we will take care of that in the right moment."
Asked if talks will open once the window ends, Arteta replied: "Yeah."

WHAT NEXT FOR ARSENAL?
The London team may bring in more new faces in the final week of the transfer window before it closes on August 30. Before then, they will take on Aston Villa in their second Premier League game of the season.
