  Arteta has entered the final year of his contract at the north London club and he is eager to stay on beyond that date. However, there has been no news of him coming to an agreement with the Gunners, with the new campaign already underway.

  Arteta has done a stellar job at Arsenal since taking over in December 2019, guiding the Gunners to second-place finishes in the Premier League in the last two seasons. Arsenal fans will be eagerly awaiting news on his future, and the ex-midfielder says talks will begin once the transfer window ends.

  "The focus has been on the transfer window," he said when asked about the state of contract talks with the club. "We had quite a lot of things to do and discuss. We are on it and we will take care of that in the right moment."

  Asked if talks will open once the window ends, Arteta replied: "Yeah."
